Western Refining Announces Temporary Suspension of Refining Operations at its El Paso Refinery Due to Extreme Weather Conditions
February 7, 2011 — Western Refining (NYSE:WNR) announced today that on February 2, 2011, it temporarily suspended refining operations at its El Paso refinery due to inclement weather in El Paso and related curtailment of electricity by the local utility. The El Paso refinery experienced some freeze-related damage and the Company has begun the necessary repairs to resume operations. Management anticipates beginning startup of certain processing units in approximately three to five days and is working with its customers and suppliers to address any interruptions that may arise from this event.
