On May 8, 2015, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, granted Rightscorp, Inc.’s (the “Company”) motion to strike the second cause of action for Abuse of Process, on the basis of California’s anti-SLAPP statute, and ordered the plaintiff to pay the Company’s attorney’s fees and costs, in the previously disclosed matter of John Blaha v. Rightscorp, Inc., et al. As previously disclosed, this matter asserts causes of action for (1) Violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227); and (2) Abuse of Process (Under Federal and California Law). The action was brought on behalf of the individual named plaintiff as well as on behalf of two putative nationwide classes.
