GAIN Capital Announces Monthly Metrics for May 2014
Bedminster, New Jersey (June 10, 2014) - GAIN Capital Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GCAP, “GAIN” or “the Company”) today reported certain operating metrics for the month of May 2014.
Retail metrics
• | Retail OTC trading volume1 of $175.9 billion, an increase of 0.9% from April 2014 and an increase of 9.0% from May 2013. |
• | Average daily retail OTC trading volume of $8.0 billion, an increase of 0.9% from April 2014 and an increase of 13.9% from May 2013. |
• | Active retail OTC accounts2 of 95,205, a decrease of 0.9% from April 2014 and an increase of 48.7% from May 2013. |
• | Futures contracts of 550,666, a decrease of 14.2% from April 2014 and an increase of 16.8% from May 2013. |
• | Average daily futures contracts of 25,030, a decrease of 14.2% from April 2014 and an increase of 22.1% from May 2013. |
• | Total funded accounts3 of 135,717, an increase of 0.6% from April 2014 and an increase of 34.8% from May 2013. |
Institutional metrics
• | Total institutional trading volume4 of $456.9 billion, an increase of 11.7% from April 2014 and an increase of 19.4% from May 2013. |
• | Average daily institutional volume of $20.8 billion, an increase of 11.7% from April 2014 and an increase of 24.8% from May 2013. |
• | GTX trading volume5 of $420.7 billion, an increase of 13.8% from April 2014 and an increase of 9.9% from May 2013. |
• | Average daily GTX volume of $19.1 billion, an increase of 13.8% from April 2014 and an increase of 14.9% from May 2013. |
