DOUGLAS LAKE COMMENCES AIRBORNE SURVEY ON ITS 800 KM2 LICENCE IN THE HANDENI DISTRICT

Vancouver, British Columbia, August 30, 2011 -- Douglas Lake Minerals Inc. (the "Company" or "Douglas Lake") (OTCBB: DLKM) is pleased to announce the commencement of a Helicopter-borne Electromagnetic and Radiometric Survey on all 800 square kilometres of its 100% owned Handeni Properties by FUGRO Airborne Surveys of South Africa.

FUGRO's HELITEM is the world's most powerful helicopter time-domain electromagnetic system and is the industry leader in its technology category.

The survey area is comprised of a single block located in Handeni District and will include the Magambazi east and Kwandegi anomalies situated on Douglas Lake owned licences.

Flight lines will be flown at 200 meter flight line intervals in a north-south direction. Tie lines will be flown perpendicular to flight lines at about ten times the flight line interval. The survey will encompass approximately 4740 line kilometres.

"We eagerly await the results of this airborne survey, as it will further enhance our understanding of our current twelve targets," commented Dr Scheepers, President and Managing Director of Douglas Lake Tanzania. "In addition it is expected to delineate even more potential targets as well as aid the structural interpretation of the geology that is typical of the Handeni district," continued Scheepers.

Douglas Lake utilizes strict international industry standard QA/QC protocol with respect to sampling and independent laboratory procedures.  The planning, execution, and monitoring of the Company's quality control and quality assessment programs are under the supervision of Dr. R. Scheepers, a director of the Company, COO of DLKM, and a Qualified Person as defined by Canadian National Instrument 43-101.External monitoring of the QA/QC measurements from the outset of the drilling program is provided by SRK, an International Independent consulting practice with 40 permanent offices on six continents.
