Item 5.02

Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

Effective September 30, 2020, Karen Brennan retired from her position as Chief Operations Officer of Checkmate Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the “Company”). Ms. Brennan’s retirement does not involve any disagreement on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices. The Company’s executive officers will assume her responsibilities.
