Item 8.01 Other Events

 

On May 28, 2020, Protalix BioTherapeutics, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Company”), issued a press release, together with its development and commercialization partner, Chiesi Global Rare Diseases, a unit of Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. (“Chiesi”), announcing the submission on May 27, 2020 of a Biologics License Application (BLA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for pegunigalsidase alfa for the proposed treatment of adult patients with Fabry disease via the FDA’s Accelerated Approval pathway. Pegunigalsidase alfa is the Company’s purposefully-designed, long-acting recombinant, PEGylated, cross-linked α-galactosidase-A investigational product candidate. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
