Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On May 22, 2017, Jeff Lamb, Executive Vice President of Corporate Services of Southwest Airlines Co. (the “Company”), submitted his resignation from the Company effective June 30, 2017. Concurrent with the Company’s announcement of Mr. Lamb’s departure, the Company announced that Bob Jordan, the Company’s Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, will assume the role of Executive Vice President of Corporate Services effective July 1, 2017. The Company also announced that Andrew Watterson, the Company’s Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer, will be promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer effective July 1, 2017.
