Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 16, 2016, Carolina Trust BancShares, Inc. issued a press release announcing that its subsidiary bank has redeemed all 2,600 shares of its outstanding fixed rate non-cumulative perpetual preferred stock at par plus accrued dividends. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
