Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. Declares Special Dividend

WARRENTON, VA, December 19, 2014 – The Board of Directors of Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: FBSS) recently announced a special dividend of $0.05 per share.  This dividend was declared for shareholders of record as of the close of business on December 31, 2014 and will be payable on January 16, 2015.

Randy K Ferrell, President and CEO, commented, "Each quarter the Board of Directors carefully evaluates the best use of capital when determining its dividend policy. Considerations are given to this year's earnings and projected profitability, asset growth and changes in regulatory capital measures, among other things. We are pleased to announce a special cash dividend. With this special dividend, cash dividends for the last four quarters total $0.53 per common share compared with $0.48 per common share during the previous four quarters or a 10% increase in total annual cash dividends."

Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. and its principal subsidiary, The Fauquier Bank, had combined assets of $588.2 million and total shareholders' equity of $54.6 million at September 30, 2014. The Fauquier Bank is an independent, locally-owned, community bank offering a full range of financial services, including internet banking, commercial, retail, insurance, wealth management, and financial planning services through banking offices located in Fauquier and Prince William Counties in Virginia.
