Item 8.01. Other Events
On November 13, 2014, State Bank Financial Corporation announced that J. Thomas Wiley Jr. will be named Chief Executive Officer of the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary bank, State Bank and Trust Company, effective January 1, 2015. Upon Mr. Wiley’s appointment on January 1, 2015, Joseph W. Evans will no longer serve as Chief Executive Officer of State Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Evans will continue to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer State Bank Financial Corporation and as Chairman of State Bank and Trust Company.
A press release regarding Mr. Wiley’s appointment is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
