On September 3, 2013, Spartan Stores, Inc. issued a press release announcing the expiration of the statutory waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 for the pending merger of Spartan Stores, Inc. and Nash-Finch Company.
