Item 8.01 Other Events.
Biolase, Inc. (the "Company") has been notified of class action lawsuits filed against the Company and certain of its executive officers alleging violations of the federal securities laws in connection with statements that the Company filed with or furnished to the Securities and Exchange Commission, or otherwise made available to the public, relating to the Company's financial results for the 2013 second quarter and the Company's recent announcement it had received a waiver from Comerica Bank due to non-compliance with a loan covenant. The Company believes that the claims contained in the lawsuits are without merit and intends to vigorously defend against the claims.
