Explanatory Note

This report amends our Current Report on Form 8-K filed on August 13, 2013. The prior version of this Form 8-K included a version of our press release that is being re-filed herewith to correct certain numbers contained in our Consolidated Statements of Operations and Comprehensive Loss and Consolidated Balance Sheet. Such financials were properly disclosed in our Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q filed on August 13, 2013.

On August 13, 2013, TearLab Corporation issued a press release announcing financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2013. A copy of this press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
