Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Effective as of March 15, 2013, the Board of Directors of Ferrellgas, Inc. appointed Boyd H. McGathey, 54, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. McGathey has served as Senior Vice President of Operations since March 2011. Prior to that, Mr. McGathey served as the West Division President of Inergy, L.P. from January 2010 to March 2011 as well as Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Liberty Propane from March 2005 to December 2009. Mr. McGathey serves on the Board of Directors of International Young Gassers Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, Kansas City Crime Stoppers and Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund. Mr. McGathey will serve on the Executive Committee.
Mr. McGathey will continue to participate in the company's discretionary bonus and non-equity incentive plans, the Ferrell Companies, Inc. Incentive Compensation Plan, the Ferrell Companies, Inc. Employee Stock Ownership Plan and the company's deferred compensation plans.
