MIDWESTONE FINANCIAL GROUP APPROVES STOCK REPURCHASE PROGRAM

Iowa City (January 16, 2013) -- MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOFG), parent company of MidWestOne Bank, today announced that, on January 15, 2013, the Company's Board of Directors approved a share repurchase program, allowing the repurchase of up to $5.0 million of stock through December 31, 2014. The Company bought 161,699 shares during the fourth quarter of 2011 and throughout the year 2012 for approximately $2.6 million. These purchases were part of a $1.0 million repurchase program announced in July 2011 and amended to $5.0 million in October 2011, which expired December 31, 2012.
