On December 19, 2012, Northfield Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of Northfield Bancorp, Inc., approved amended and restated employment agreements with Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, John W. Alexander, and Executive Vice President, Michael J. Widmer effective January 1, 2013. Pursuant to the review provided for in each agreement, the agreements were extended for an additional year so that the term of the agreements remains three years. The amended and restated agreements are filed as exhibits to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
Also on December 19, 2012, Northfield Bancorp, Inc., and Northfield Bank appointed William R. Jacobs Principal Accounting Officer. Mr. Jacobs, 39, joined Northfield as Vice President – Controller on October 2, 2006. He was named Senior Vice President in January, 2010.
