The First Bancorp Declares Dividend

DAMARISCOTTA, Maine – (BUSINESS WIRE) – December 20, 2012 – The Board of Directors of The First Bancorp (NASDAQ: FNLC), today declared a quarterly dividend of 19.5 cents per share. This fourth-quarter dividend, which is payable January 31, 2013, to shareholders of record as of January 7, 2013, is equal to the 19.5 cents per share declared in the previous sixteen quarters.
"We continue to post consistent earnings each quarter," observed Daniel R. Daigneault, the Company's President & Chief Executive Officer. "With this, we are able to maintain the generous dividend payout our shareholders enjoy. Based on last night's closing price of $16.40 per share, the annualized dividend of 78 cents per share translates into a yield of 4.76%. In our view, this makes The First Bancorp's shares attractive in the current low rate environment."
