Item 5.02.         Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
 
On November 28, 2012, First Federal Bancshares of Arkansas, Inc. (the “Company”), and its wholly-owned subsidiary, First Federal Bank (the “Bank”), announced the appointment of Christopher M. Wewers as President of the Company and the Bank, effective upon the non-objection of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Bank’s primary regulator, and the Federal Reserve Bank, the Company’s primary regulator.  Mr. Wewers has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company and the Bank since May 2011 and will continue to do so until the effectiveness of his appointment as President.  Upon effectiveness of Mr. Wewers appointment, W. Dabbs Cavin, currently serving in multiple positions with the Company and the Bank (including President), will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Company and the Bank.
 
Any information regarding Mr. Wewers required by Items 401(b), (d), (e) and Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K was disclosed in the Company’s proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 23, 2012, and is incorporated herein by reference.
