Announces Share Consolidation
 
Vancouver, British Columbia – September 24, 2012 - Response Biomedical Corp. (TSX: RBM, OTCBB: RPBIF) (the “Company” or “Response”), announced today the completion of the consolidation of issued and outstanding common shares of the Company (the “Common Shares”) on the basis of every twenty (20) Common Shares being consolidated into one (1) Common Share (the “Consolidation”).
 
The Company expects the post-Consolidation Common Shares to begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the OTC Bulletin Board in the United States on or about September 26, 2012.
 
No fractional Common Shares will be issued pursuant to the Consolidation and shareholders will not receive cash in lieu of fractional Common Shares resulting from the Consolidation.  The post-Consolidation Common Shares will be represented by a new CUSIP, but there will be no changes in the stock symbols of the Company.
 
Letters of transmittal with respect to the Consolidation were mailed to the Company’s registered shareholders today.  All registered shareholders will be required to send their share certificates representing pre-Consolidation Common Shares, along with a properly executed letter of transmittal, to the Company’s registrar and transfer agent, Computershare Investor Services Inc. (“Computershare”), in accordance with the instructions provided in the letter of transmittal.  All registered shareholders who submit to Computershare a completed letter of transmittal, along with their respective certificates representing pre-Consolidation Common Shares, will receive in exchange new certificates representing their post-Consolidation Common Shares.
