Item 8.01. Other Events.
On September 21, 2012, Astex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. issued a press release announcing that clinical development of amuvatinib (MP-470), a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been discontinued. A copy of the press release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
