Item 8.01 Other.
On September 6, 2012, SunTrust Banks, Inc. (the "Company" or the "Registrant") issued a news release regarding the sale of its stock of The Coca-Cola Company, an increase to its mortgage repurchase provision, the expected sale of certain loan portfolios, and related matters. Additionally, the Company on September 6, 2012 made available related materials to be discussed during the Company's webcast and conference call referred to in such news release. A copy of the news release and related conference call materials are furnished as Exhibits 99.1 and 99.2, respectively, to this Current Report on Form 8-K and are incorporated herein by reference.
