Item 8.01 Other Events.
On August 27, 2012, the Registrant issued the press release filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 with information announcing that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has approved The First, N.A.'s purchase of a bank branch at 63 Union Street in Rockland, Maine from Camden National Bank. In addition, The First has received approval from the OCC to open a de novo branch at 145 Exchange Street in Bangor, Maine, in a building it is purchasing from Camden National. The First, N.A. is the operating subsidiary of the registrant.
