On May 14, 2012, Tai-yun Chen, Corporate Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (the “Company”) and the Company’s Principal Accounting Officer, informed the Company of her intent to retire as of August 10, 2012. The Company is identifying a candidate to replace Ms. Chen.
