Item 8.01. Other Events.
On May 14, 2012, Argan, Inc. (“Argan”) issued a press release announcing that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gemma Power Systems, LLC, has received full notice to proceed from East Texas Electric Cooperative on a project to design and build a 49.9 megawatt biomass-fired power plant near Woodville, Texas. This project is estimated to be completed in December 2014. The award of the contract was announced on October 17, 2011.
