On April 12, 2012, the Company issued a press release announcing that the European Patent Office has issued a Notice of Allowance for a key patent covering the use of enteric-coated, delayed-release oral formulations of cysteamine bitartrate, including the Company’s proprietary microbead formulation, RP103, as well as other formulations of cystamine and cysteamine. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference into this Item 8.01.
