Item 8.01 Other Events.

On April 2, 2012, Homeland Energy Solutions, LLC mailed a letter to its members which included a distribution payment or notice of direct deposit in the amount of $133 per membership unit. The content of the letter is as follows:

Dear Homeland Energy Solutions Shareholder,

Enclosed in this envelope is your 2011 dividend check or deposit notice for $133 per share. Homeland had a very good year last year and has worked very hard to pay the maximum allowed by our lender and get caught up on dividends, paying the 2009 dividend in April 2011 and paying the 2010 dividend in October 2011.  The board may look at another dividend based on calculations in our loan agreements related to our 2011 earnings later in the year depending on profitability and production outlook for corn. Thank you for your support of Homeland Energy Solutions. The board of directors, employees, and management work very hard to meet your investment expectations and be financially solid at the same time. We hope to see all of you at the annual meeting on April 5 at Kolbys in New Hampton.

Sincerely,

Walter Wendland
