On March 27, 2012, Affymax, Inc. and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved OMONTYS® (peginesatide) Injection for the treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease in adult patients on dialysis.  A press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
