Item 8.01.
Other Events.
 
As previously disclosed, on November 17, 2011, voluntary petitions for relief were filed by General Maritime Corporation and substantially all of its subsidiaries (with the exception of those in Portugal, Russia and Singapore, as well as certain inactive subsidiaries) (collectively, the “Debtors”) under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (the “Bankruptcy Court”), which are being jointly administered under Case No. 11-15285 (MG).
 
On March 15, 2012, at a regularly scheduled omnibus hearing, the Bankruptcy Court approved, among other motions, a motion to extend the period during which the Debtors have the exclusive right to file a plan of reorganization (the “Plan”) from March 16, 2012 to May 15, 2012, and to extend the exclusive period for the solicitation of acceptances of the Plan from May 15, 2012 to July 14, 2012.
