Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure
On February 7, 2012, Plains Exploration & Production Company issued a press release reporting preliminary 2011 operational results and an update to its derivative position. The press release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.
PXP is scheduled to present at the 2012 Credit Suisse Energy Summit on February 7, 2012, at 8:45 a.m. Mountain time. In connection with this conference, PXP has prepared investor slides, which are furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.2 and are incorporated by reference herein.
