Item 8.01 Other Events.
Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (“FCX”) issued a press release dated December 14, 2011 announcing the successful resolution of PT Freeport Indonesia's (“PT-FI”) labor strike that began on September 15, 2011 and updating the status of PT-FI's Grasberg operations in Papua, Indonesia (see Exhibit 99.1).
