Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On October 24, 2011, the Board of Directors of Artio Global Investors Inc. (the “Company”) approved the appointment of Anthony Williams, as the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Williams, aged 47, has been the Company’s Chief Operating Officer since December 2007. He initially joined as Chief Operating Officer of Artio Global Management LLC (“Investment Adviser”) in 2003 and, in 2004, became the Head of Asset Management Americas for Investment Adviser.
Further biographical and other information about Mr. Williams required by Item 5.02(c) of Form 8-K is contained in the Company’s Proxy Statement for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2010, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 21, 2011 (File No. 001-34457) , and such information is incorporated by reference herein.
Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.
On October 27, 2011, the Company issued a news release announcing its third quarter 2011 financial and operating results. A copy of the Company’s news release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
