Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 19, 2011, PDL BioPharma, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release announcing its retention of two advisers to the Company to assist with the identification and evaluation of royalty bearing asset acquisition opportunities. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
