On September 26, 2011, the Board of Directors of BlackRock, Inc. (the “Company”) elected Marco Antonio “Tony” Slim Domit to serve as a director of the Board. Mr. Slim is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Inbursa, S.A.B. de C.V.
The Company issued a press release on September 27, 2011 announcing the appointment of Mr. Slim. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
