On September 26, 2011, D. Vernon Horton tendered his resignation as a member of the Board of Directors of Pacific Capital Bancorp (the “Company”) and its wholly-owned banking subsidiary, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, N.A., effective September 30, 2011. Mr. Horton’s resignation did not result from any disagreement with the Company concerning any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
