Item 8.01 Other Events.

On August 11, 2011, PNM Resources, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release (“August 11 Release”) regarding the electric rate case of the Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Public Service Company of New Mexico (“PNM”).

The August 11 Release reported that the required filing had been made with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (“NMPRC”) to allow PNM to implement the previously disclosed $72.1 million rate increase that had been approved by the NMPRC subject to such filing being made. The August 11 Release is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
