On July 28, 2011, Republic Services, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release containing
information about the Company’s results of operations for the three and six months ended June 30,

On July 28, 2011, the Company issued a press release announcing that its board of directors
approved a 10.0% increase in the Company’s regular quarterly dividend to $0.22 per share. A copy
