On July 18, 2011, Waccamaw Bankshares, Inc. (the “Company”), issued a press release announcing that The Nasdaq Stock Market approved a request for the Company’s securities to remain listed on the Nasdaq Global Market pending the outcome of the Company’s scheduled hearing before the Nasdaq Hearings Panel on August 4. Nasdaq had previously informed the Company that its securities would be suspended from trading on July 18. On June 24, the staff of the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Department denied the Company’s request for continued listing on The Nasdaq Stock Market. The Company is in the process of appealing this decision to the Nasdaq Hearings Panel. The Company is subject to delisting because it has not filed its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2010, or its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarterly period ended March 31, 2011.
