Item 5.02.		Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

     On June 30, 2011, director Douglas W. McMinn (64) notified the board of directors of Alliance Bankshares Corporation (“Bankshares”) of his resignation from the boards of directors of both Bankshares and its banking subsidiary, Alliance Bank Corporation (the “Bank”), effective immediately. Mr. McMinn served as a director of Bankshares and the Bank since 2010. Bankshares and the Bank express their deep appreciation to Mr. McMinn for his valued service to the organization.
