ITEM 8.01 Other Events.
On June 1, 2011, Amkor Technology, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that as
of 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on May 31, 2011, the Company had received tenders from holders of
$156,576,000 in aggregate principal amount of its 9.25% Senior Notes due 2016 (the “2016 Notes”),
representing approximately 59.25% of the outstanding 2016 Notes. A copy of the press release is
filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
