The unaudited consolidated financial statements as of and for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 of Duke Energy Corporation are included in its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the Quarter ended March 31, 2011 filed on May 9, 2011. The unaudited consolidated financial statements as of and for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 of Progress Energy, Inc. are included in its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the Quarter ended March 31, 2011 filed on May 9, 2011, and such consolidated financial statements are attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
