On May 2, 2011, BankAtlantic Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) announced its intention to pursue a rights offering for up to $30 million of its Class A Common Stock. Under the currently contemplated terms of the rights offering, holders of the Company’s Class A Common Stock and Class B Common Stock as of the close of business on May 12, 2011 will have the right to purchase shares of the Company’s Class A Common Stock at a subscription price of $0.75 per share. A copy of the Company’s press release, which contains more detailed information relating to the rights offering, is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
