Item 8.01.
Other Events.
On April 21, 2011, Merchants Bancshares, Inc. (“Merchants”) issued a press release announcing that on April 21, 2011, the Board of Directors of Merchants declared a dividend of 28 cents per share on Merchants’ common stock. The text of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.
