Item 8.01 Other Events
On April 8, 2011, BCSB Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for Baltimore County Savings Bank, FSB (the “Bank”), announced that the Bank submitted an application to the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation of the State of Maryland to convert its charter from a federally chartered savings bank to a Maryland-chartered commercial bank. Subject to regulatory approval, the Company expects the charter conversion to be completed in the third quarter of calendar year 2011. For more information, reference is made to the Company’s press release dated April 8, 2011, a copy of which is attached to this Report as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
