Item 8.01 Other Events
On March 17, 2011, Rex Energy Corporation (the “Registrant”) issued a press release announcing that it will hold its 2011 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on Thursday, May 12, 2011, and that stockholders of record as of March 23, 2011 will be entitled to vote at the meeting. The Registrant also announced that the deadline for receipt of stockholder proposals and director nominations for the 2011 Annual Meeting of Stockholders has been changed to the close of business on March 28, 2011.
