Item 8.01 Other Events
On March 9, 2011, TCF Financial Corporation (the Company) announced it has commenced an underwritten registered public offering of $200 million of its Common Stock. TCF intends to grant the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 15 percent of the amount sold to cover over-allotments, if any. A copy of the Companys press release containing such announcement is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
