On March 3, 2011, Beazer Homes USA, Inc. issued a press release which announced that the Company’s
President and Chief Executive Officer, Ian J. McCarthy has reached a resolution with the United
States Securities and Exchange Commission of the previously disclosed claim under Section 304 of
the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as exhibit 99.1.
