The First Bancorp Declares Dividend
DAMARISCOTTA, Maine – (BUSINESS WIRE) – December 16, 2010 – The Board of Directors of The First Bancorp (NASDAQ: FNLC), today declared a quarterly dividend of 19.5 cents per share. This fourth-quarter dividend, which is payable January 28, 2011, to shareholders of record as of January 6, 2011, is equal to the 19.5 cents per share declared in the previous nine quarters.
“Given the economic climate, I am pleased that we remain profitable and are able to maintain our dividend at its current level,” stated Daniel R. Daigneault, the Company’s President & Chief Executive Officer. “The receipt of generous cash dividends is a reason that many of our shareholders continue to invest in The First Bancorp. Given the current low level of interest rates, our dividend yield is very attractive, even after the run up in the price of our shares over the past few weeks.”
