On December 14, 2010, Rural/Metro Corporation (the “Company”) announced that it was awarded the exclusive contract for emergency ambulance transportation services in Santa Clara County, California, following a vote of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. The Company will take over the contract on July 1, 2011. A copy of the Company’s press release announcing the contract award is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
