On December 11, 2010, the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union and its Local Union No. 2140 (“Local 2140”) approved the proposed collective bargaining agreements covering production workers at the United States Pipe and Foundry Company, LLC (“U.S. Pipe”) facility located in Bessemer, Alabama and the adjacent Marvel City Mini-Mill facility and ended the strike that had commenced on December 5, 2010. The agreement was substantially the same as the agreement rejected by Local 2140 on December 4, 2010.
On December 13, 2010, members of Local 2140 returned to their regular scheduled shift.
