Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 1, 2010, the registrant, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Cubist”) issued a press release announcing that its currently-marketed antibiotic, CUBICIN® (daptomycin for injection), has been approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”) for once-a-day dosing as a 2-minute intravenous injection. A copy of the press release has been filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
On December 6, 2010, Cubist issued a press release announcing that it filed a Citizen Petition with the FDA. A copy of the press release has been filed as Exhibit 99.2 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
